Our Leadership

Michael Stanton serves as the Executive Director of the Center for Law Enforcement and Emergency Management (CLEEM), bringing over two decades of experience in public safety, law enforcement strategy, and emergency management.

Michael holds a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Georgetown University. His academic background laid the foundation for his expertise in law enforcement policies, crisis response strategies, and security management.

Throughout his career, Michael has held key leadership positions in both government and private security sectors. He previously served as Deputy Director of the National Office for Emergency Preparedness, where he led nationwide initiatives on disaster response coordination and inter-agency collaboration. He was also a Senior Advisor for Homeland Security Policy, where he played a crucial role in shaping national security measures and law enforcement best practices. Additionally, Michael served as Chief Strategist at a private security consultancy firm, advising international law enforcement agencies on counterterrorism efforts and cybercrime prevention.

Under his leadership at CLEEM, Michael continues to drive research-based policy recommendations, training programs, and strategic frameworks that enhance the effectiveness of public safety agencies. His commitment to bridging research with real-world applications has solidified CLEEM’s role as a leading institution in law enforcement and emergency management research.
